Synopsis
Chrissy accidentally eats the pie that Jack was entering in a statewide baking competition and then tries to substitute a ringer from the bakery.
Plot summary
Hoping to make the grade as a professional chef, Jack enters a championship bake-off. His contribution to the proceedings is a pie. No, not just a pie, but a creamy, scrumptious chocolate-mousse pie that takes him a great deal of time to assemble. Alas, it does not take quite so much time for the unwitting Chrissy to find the pie and eat every bit of it. When Jack finds out that Chrissy accidentally ate his pie, and that she and Janet hurried to the Hoffmeier's Bakery to get a replacement one, which happens to be one of the brand pies made by Mr. Hoffmeier (Leon Askin), owner of Hoffmeier's Bakery, who happens to also be one of the judges of the competition, he desperately tries to plead to Dean Travers to withdraw his pie, only to have the Dean refuse to, as he was starving to have a winner at the contest to garner publicity for the cooking school, not to mention a big trophy, as well!
What then ensues is perhaps one of the funniest moments of the series as a hilarious classic pie-fight takes place, with everyone getting hit, and with the Dean, desperately wanting Jack's pie to win the contest, exclaiming "I came here to win that trophy, and I want it!" as he then gets hit (with pies) from all sides, and then Chrissy, not wanting to be left out, pieing herself in the face!
