Jack The Ripper is the fifth episode of the fourth season of Three's Company, and the 58th overall series episode. Co-written by Gene Perret and Bill Richmond, the episode, which was directed by Dave Powers, premiered on ABC-TV on October 9, 1979.
Jack goes to see a counselor to learn to become more assertive.
Jack has been feeling walked on by Furley, Dean Travers, and the girls lately, so, at the suggestion of Janet he sees a psychologist/life coach, Dr Prescott (Joel Brooks) from whom he takes an "assertiveness training course"! It works too well, and Jack becomes aggressive and unbearable, causing a dispute with Mr. Furley to become an angry shouting (more like barking) match!
Jack and Mr. Furley, who decided to take the course out of being tired of getting pushed around by his brother Bart, and getting rejected by Lana, realize they have been taking the same course, and Jack chooses to go back to his old ways, but not to let people push him around.
