The Harder They Fall is the eighteenth episode of Season 3 of Three's Company, and the 49th overall episode of the series. Directed by Dave Powers and written by Susan Sisko with teleplay by Al Gordon and Jack Mendelsohn, it first aired 20 February 1979 on ABC.
Summary[]
Hoping to woo and win flower-shop patron Gregg, Janet invites him to the apartment. Upon arriving, Janet and Gregg find Jack and Chrissy in the same bed. No, it isn't what it looks like; it seems that Jack has a broken leg and Chrissy is tending to him. But Janet's date is ruined, and she is definitely not in a forgiving mood. Gregg assumes that Janet invited him up to the apartment with the pretense of going to bed with him on the first date. Mr. Roper comes up complaining about all the noise upstairs, and then he thinks that Gregg is a lawyer, offering money for Jack not to sue him. Gregg, upset over all the interruptions, storms out of the apartment.

- The title is from the old saying about large obstacles (or people): The bigger they are the harder they fall.
