Bob and Carol & Larry and Terri was the 13th episode of Season 7 of Three's Company, the 141st overall episode in the series. Written by Martin Rips and Joseph Staretski, the episode was directed by Dave Powers. It first aired on ABC-TV on January 18, 1983.
By the time an innocent story is retold through several people, the trio believes Bob and Carol's marriage is on the rocks. Larry and Terri try to straighten things out with the couple, only to be "caught" by Mr. Furley.
The bartender at The Regal Beagle overhears Carol telling Larry and Furley how she and her husband, Bob, had a boating accident, washed up on the rocks and were rescued by a water skier. By the time the story is transmitted through several people, the trio think their best friends' marriage is on the rocks because one of them was having an affair with a water skier. Desperate to help patch things up, Janet decides to have a talk with Carol, and Jack with Bob.
By the time they finish, Bob and Carol's marriage really is on the rocks. Jack and Janet have succeeded only in convincing them that their mate is having an affair.
