An Anniversary Surprise is the 20th episode of Season 3 of Three's Company, also the 51st overall series episode. Directed by Dave Powers, the episode, which was written by John Baskin and Roger Shulman, originally aired on ABC-TV on March 13, 1979.

Note: This episode marked the departure of the Ropers to their own self-titled spin-off series, The Ropers, whose pilot premiered after this episode on the same night.

SynopsisEdit

The gang believes that Mr. Roper is having an affair. The "other woman" is actually a real estate agent who is helping Mr. Roper sell the building and find a new home in Cheviot Hills.

Plot summaryEdit

Mr. Roper has a real surprise in store for his wedding anniversary -- he plans to move himself and Mrs. Roper out of the apartment house and into a ritzy town house in Cheviot Hills. To that end, he begins hinting to Jack and the girls that "someone will be moving out." Then he arranges a secret meeting with attractive real estate agent Mrs. Dawson. The result: Mrs. Roper and the roommates are convinced that Roper is having an affair.
